The Fantasticks opens October 10, including an Opening Night Celebration and runs Friday and Saturday evenings at 8:00 PM through October 25th; Thursday Evening on October 16 and matinee performances are at 2:30 Pm October 19 and 26. The Fantasticks tells an allegorical story of two neighboring fathers who trick their children, Luisa and Matt, into falling in love by pretending to feud. This longest-running New York musical opened in 1960 at The Sullivan Street Theater in New York City. Following a brief hiatus after 42 years, the musical was reopened in 2006 and is currently running there. Theater aficionados will remember Jerry Orbach as the original El Gallo and the song he made famous, Try to Remember.
